    Baker Hughes, Inc. announced that Adam B. Anderson will be appointed Baker Hughes Vice-President, Investor Relations, effective July 1, 2011.

     

    Dril-Quip, Inc. announced that one of its subsidiaries in Singapore has been awarded a $39 million contract by Murphy Sabah Oil Company, Ltd. to supply drilling and production equipment for the Kikeh dry tree spar platform located offshore Malaysia.

  • Dril-Quip Announced New Senior Vice Presidents

    Dril-Quip, Inc. announced that Blake T. DeBerry will become Senior Vice President, Sales and Engineering, while James A. Gariepy will assume the position of Senior Vice President, Manufacturing, Project Management, and Service, effective July 18, 2011.

  • Dril-Quip Awarded Contact by Chevron

    Dril-Quip, Inc. has been awarded a contract by Chevron U.S.A., Inc. to supply drilling equipment for the Big Foot Tension Leg Platform (TLP) to be installed in the Big Foot field located in the Walker Ridge area. In addition, the company will provide subsea wellhead and specialty connector equipment to the project as well.

     

    Global Industries, Ltd. has been awarded a project from LLOG Deepwater Development Company for the installation of a deepwater subsea development. The project, which will take place in Mississippi Canyon 503/547, is located in 3,000 feet of water and is scheduled to begin in May.

  • NOV Acquired APL, PLC

    National Oilwell Varco, Inc. has acquired Advanced Production and Loading, PLC (APL), a subsidiary of BW Offshore, Ltd. APL, based in Norway, designs and manufactures turret mooring systems and other products for Floating Production, Storage and Offloading vessels (FPSOs) and other offshore vessels and terminals.

     

    Dril-Quip, Inc. announced that Larry E. Reimert, Co-Chairman and Co-CEO, will step down from his duties as Co-CEO effective January 1, 2011, in order to concentrate on personal health issues. Reimert will retain his duties as Co-Chairman. J. Mike Walker, Co-Chairman and Co-CEO, will assume Reimert’s CEO responsibilities.

     

    McDermott International, Inc. announced one of its subsidiaries was awarded a contract by Arena Offshore, LP for construction and installation of a platform for Arena’s “Riker” Prospect, located at Eugene Island 338 in 275 feet of water.

  • Shell Awards Contract to Dril-Quip

    Shell Offshore, Inc. awarded a contract to Dril-Quip, Inc. to supply drilling and production equipment for the Olympus Tension Leg Platform (TLP) to be installed in the Mars field located in the Mississippi Canyon area. The Olympus TLP is part of the Mars B Project.

     

    Shell Upstream Americas plans to support Phase II of the Parque das Conchas (BC-10) project off the coast of Brazil. This phase will develop the fourth field in the BC-10 block. The full project will recover more than 300 MMboe of oil and natural gas, with production projected at 100,000 boe/d.

  • Offshore Service & Supply News

    Dril-Quip, Inc. has been awarded a $100 million contract by FloaTEC de Mexico S.A. de C.V. to supply drilling and production equipment for the P-61 Tension Leg Wellhead Platform (TLWP) to be installed in the Papa Terra field located in the Campos Basin offshore Brazil.

     

    KBR has been awarded a contract to provide engineering and construction management services for the construction of a new ceramic proppant manufacturing line at the CARBO Ceramics, Inc. plant in Toomsboro, GA.  The proppant manufacturing line is designed to produce 250 million pounds per year of product at completion. Construction is expected to be completed before the end of 2011. The total installed cost of the project is $62 million.

     

    GE will supply gas turbine and compressor equipment to Petrobras Netherlands BV for deployment in two floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO P-58 and P-62) units for exploration and production offshore Brazil.

     

    Allis-Chalmers Energy, Inc. announced the acquisition of American Well Control, Inc. for total consideration of approximately $17.2 million in cash and 1 million shares of Allis-Chalmers common stock.
