Global Industries, Ltd. announced the deepwater derrick/pipelay vessel Global 1200 completed its initial project in Dubai and is currently mobilizing to the U.S. Gulf of Mexico. The company has secured a significant project in Mexico which will utilize the vessel beginning in late 2011 and continuing into 2012.

 

Helix Energy Solutions Group, Inc. reported its well intervention revenues increased in the second quarter of 2011 due primarily to increased utilization of our vessels in both the North Sea and the Gulf of Mexico. Vessel utilization in the Gulf of Mexico increased to 93% in the second quarter of 2011 from 88% in the first quarter of 2011.

 

McDermott International, Inc. announced one of its subsidiaries has been awarded a fabrication contract by Shell Offshore, Inc., for the West Delta 143 “C” deck, jacket, piles, and bridge.

FMC Technologies, Inc. has signed an agreement with Statoil for the manufacture and supply of subsea workover adapters. The award has a value of approximately $43 million. Separately, the company signed an agreement with Shell Development (Australia) Pty., Ltd. to supply subsea production and associated topside systems for the Prelude field development. The companies also announced an aftermarket agreement that will result in FMC performing installation and commissioning services for the project.

 

McDermott International, Inc. announced the award of a significant subsea contract to its Australian subsidiary for a deepwater offshore engineering and construction project, including structural transportation and installation of subsea infrastructure. The new contract for work offshore Western Australia is included in the company’s second quarter 2011 backlog.

 

The Helix Well Containment Group announced that it is now capable to respond to a subsea well containment incident in water depths of up to 10,000 ft. The consortium previously announced its intention to achieve this milestone by mid-summer and has achieved this ahead of schedule. Previously, it had capabilities to operate in water depths of up to 8,000 ft.

McDermott International, Inc. announced that one of its subsidiaries was awarded a contract by Pemex Exploración y Producción for procurement, construction, and installation of three oil and gas pipelines ranging from 8 to 20 inches in diameter, in Mexico’s Bay of Campeche. The contract is valued at more than $50 million. Separately, the company announced that one of its subsidiaries has been awarded full engineering, procurement, construction, and installation of a 750-ton compressor module for BG Trinidad & Tobago’s Hibiscus field development offshore Trinidad. The contract is valued at more than $50 million.

The Marine Well Containment Company (MWCC) announced that its membership has grown to 10 members at the conclusion of the company’s formation period. The MWCC member companies are now Chevron, ConocoPhillips, ExxonMobil, Shell, BP, Apache, Anadarko, BHP Billiton, Statoil and Hess. These 10 companies operated approximately 70 percent of deepwater wells drilled in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico between 2007 through 2009.

McDermott International, Inc. announced that its subsea construction vessel Agile has been contracted by Petrobras to install subsea flexible pipelines and umbilicals offshore Brazil.

National Oilwell Varco, Inc. has acquired Advanced Production and Loading, PLC (APL), a subsidiary of BW Offshore, Ltd. APL, based in Norway, designs and manufactures turret mooring systems and other products for Floating Production, Storage and Offloading vessels (FPSOs) and other offshore vessels and terminals.

 

Dril-Quip, Inc. announced that Larry E. Reimert, Co-Chairman and Co-CEO, will step down from his duties as Co-CEO effective January 1, 2011, in order to concentrate on personal health issues. Reimert will retain his duties as Co-Chairman. J. Mike Walker, Co-Chairman and Co-CEO, will assume Reimert’s CEO responsibilities.
