    Baker Hughes announced that Darrell C. Howard has joined the company as President of the Integrated Operations organization.

     

    Forum Subsea Solutions of Houston announced the sale of a sub-Atlantic Super Mohawk II remotely operated vehicle system to Abyss International Benthic Exploration S.A.R.L. of Montpellier, France. The Super Mohawk II is suitable for observation, survey, pipelay support, and inspections. Abyss International will use this system for inspection, survey, and intervention work on contracts in North and West Africa.

     

    Schilling Robotics, LLC and Gregg Marine, Inc. announced the successful completion of field testing of their first seabed drilling unit offshore Vancouver, British Columbia. The system is currently being mobilized to drill near Australia, where it will begin work in the coming months for Apache Oil Corporation.

  • Baker Hughes Announced VP, Investor Relations

    Baker Hughes, Inc. announced that Adam B. Anderson will be appointed Baker Hughes Vice-President, Investor Relations, effective July 1, 2011.

     

    Dril-Quip, Inc. announced that one of its subsidiaries in Singapore has been awarded a $39 million contract by Murphy Sabah Oil Company, Ltd. to supply drilling and production equipment for the Kikeh dry tree spar platform located offshore Malaysia.

  • Baker Hughes Launches the Blue Tarpon

    Baker Hughes has launched its state-of-the-art fracturing and stimulation vessel, the Blue Tarpon™, into the Gulf of Mexico. The 300-foot ship is designed to provide highrate and high-volume stimulation treatments for demanding offshore operations. The ship can perform complex, multiple-zone completions without traveling back to port for resupply. With a maximum pump rate of 80 barrels per minute, proppant capacity of 2.1 million pounds, and accommodations for up to 44 people, the Blue Tarpon is designed to perform round-the-clock operations in deepwater plays.

  • Cameron Will Record Q1 Charge of $0.15 Per Share

    Cameron will record a first quarter charge of about $0.15 per share associated with delays on a subsea systems project in Nigeria.

    Baker Hughes, Inc. has received notice that the Antitrust Division of the U.S. Dept. of Justice has approved the purchase of two of its stimulation vessels, the HR Hughes and the Blue Ray, and certain other assets used to perform sand control services in the Gulf of Mexico, by Superior Energy Services.  These assets are being divested in connection with the acquisition of BJ Services Co.

     

    Deep Down, Inc. has teamed up with Core Industries to permanently locate a 3,200 metric ton umbilical storage carousel system at Core’s deepwater port facility near Mobile, Ala.  The carousel is currently under construction and will be ready in fourth quarter 2010.

     

    Cal Dive International, Inc. announced the departure of Bruce P. Koch, the company’s Chief Financial Officer. Brent D. Smith, the company’s current Vice President-Finance, has been promoted to Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer, and Treasurer of the company.

     

    DeepFlex announced one of its all-composite flexible pipes has been used by Saipem to commission a deepwater export line offshore Brazil for Petrobras. The Saipem vessel Normand Cutter deployed the DeepFlex downline in 4,950 feet of water.

  • Baker Hughes Announced Agreement to Sell Assets

    Baker Hughes, Inc. announced that its subsidiaries have signed an agreement to sell a package of assets including two stimulation vessels (the HR Hughes and Blue Ray) and certain other assets used to perform sand control and stimulation services in the Gulf of Mexico to a subsidiary of Superior Energy Services, Inc. The agreement, which is subject to approval of the Department of Justice, is expected to be completed by the end of July 2010.

     

    Technip has been awarded two North Sea contracts by BP. The first award, a three year diving repair & maintenance (R&M) frame agreement contract with two further one year options, covers all diving and R&M activities for BP’s platforms, subsea fields and pipelines within the U.K. North Sea area. The second award is a major engineering and installation contract for the development of the Devenick field, located northeast of Aberdeen. The contract covers project management, engineering, fabrication, installation and commissioning of production pipeline, a methanol line and infield pipelines.

     

    Technip has been awarded an engineering, procurement, installation and construction contract by Burullus Gas Company for the West Delta Deep Marine (WDDM) Phase VIII a development project offshore Egypt in the Mediterranean Sea.
