What geographic areas does RigData cover?
RigData reports cover the permit, drilling and well activity in all the oil producing states in the United States, the Gulf of Mexico and Canada. For a detailed overview of our geographic coverage, click here.
What type of data elements can RigData provide?
We collect permit and drilling information for land activity in the United States and Canada plus the offshore activity in the Gulf of Mexico. Completion information is currently only available for the state of Texas.
How is the activity information collected?
Permit information is collected by the respective agencies that govern the oil and gas permitting and drilling activities for each state or region. This information is entered by RigData into a proprietary database and then manually reviewed before publishing. Drilling activity is surveyed each week from direct calls to the drilling contractors that are doing the drilling. This information is added to our database and kept current each week.
How do I order one of the standard reports or a custom report?
